ISLAMABAD: In a significant development, Islamabad Police have arrested 57 individuals in connection with various criminal activities and seized a substantial quantity of drugs and weapons. These arrests are part of an ongoing effort to combat crime in the federal capital, according to a press release issued by Islamabad Capital Police.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operations led to the arrest of 25 suspects involved in different criminal activities. During these operations, police teams confiscated 2,485 grams of ice, 530 grams of hashish, 10 bottles of liquor, and 14 pistols along with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects, and investigations are continuing.
Additionally, as part of a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams apprehended 32 criminals. These efforts are in line with the directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, to maintain peace and order in the city.
Qazi Ali Raza, SSP Operations Islamabad, emphasized that the police are dedicated to ensuring the safety of citizens and their property. Under the “No to Weapons” campaign, rigorous measures are being taken against illegal weapons and activities such as the display of arms and aerial firing. The campaign also aims to swiftly bring offenders with criminal records to justice.
The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activity to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pukar-15” to aid in creating a crime-free city through collaboration between the police and the community.
