Islamabad Police Arrest 28 Suspects, Seize Drugs and Weapons in Citywide Crackdown

Islamabad: The Islamabad Police have successfully detained 28 individuals in various parts of the city over the past 24 hours, seizing significant quantities of drugs and weapons. This operation comes as part of a heightened effort to curtail criminal activities under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests and seizures are a direct result of intensified policing following specific directives from the IGP to combat crime more aggressively. Teams from different police stations participated in these operations, leading to the recovery of drugs including hashish and heroin, as well as several 30 bore pistols. Noteworthy among the arrests were Mujahid, found with over a kilogram of hashish, and Ameel Khan, who was caught with nearly two kilograms of heroin.

The crackdown also included efforts against known offenders, with 15 absconders and targeted criminals apprehended during the operations. Deputy Inspector General Syed Ali Raza has commanded further intensification of these efforts, emphasizing that the security of the city’s residents is paramount.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to the authorities using the emergency helpline ‘Pucar-15’ or through the ‘ICT-15’ app.
