Islamabad: Islamabad Police have arrested 23 individuals as part of an ongoing operation to curb crime in the federal capital, the force announced in a press release. The arrest led to the recovery of drugs and illegal weapons, marking a significant step in law enforcement efforts to enhance public safety.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation follows directives from Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The police seized 1,452 grams of Ice, 20 bottles of wine, four rifles, and 14 pistols of various calibers, along with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused, and investigations are currently underway.
SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the commitment of the police to safeguard the lives and property of citizens. Under the “No to Weapon” initiative, authorities are taking strict action against illegal firearms and have stepped up efforts to apprehend proclaimed offenders. Citizens are encouraged to report suspicious activities to local police stations or the Pucar-15 emergency helpline to help maintain public safety.
