ISLAMABAD: In a concerted effort to combat crime and enhance public safety, the Islamabad Police have arrested 19 individuals and seized a substantial quantity of drugs and illegal weapons.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests were made following directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of an ongoing crackdown across the federal capital. The operations led to the apprehension of 14 individuals involved in drug trafficking and unlawful possession of weapons. The police confiscated 698 grams of Ice, 2,270 grams of hashish, one gun, and seven pistols of different calibers, along with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against those arrested, and investigations continue.

Additionally, in a separate campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and individuals with criminal records, law enforcement officials detained five wanted individuals. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the department’s commitment to safeguarding citizens’ lives and property and highlighted the “No to Weapon” campaign, aimed at curbing illegal weapon possession and usage. Raza encouraged residents to report suspicious activities to local police stations or the Pucar-15 helpline, fostering collaboration between the police and the community to ensure a safer federal capital.
