Wristwatch Ownership in Pakistan Tied to Education, Survey Reveals

Karachi: Only 28% of adult Pakistanis report owning a wristwatch, with a significant educational disparity influencing ownership, a recent survey has found. According to Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, wristwatch ownership is substantially higher among individuals with FA and above education levels, at 51%, compared to 23% among those with less education.

The survey, conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, involved a nationally representative sample of 811 married men and women from urban and rural areas across all four provinces of the country. The data was collected via telephonic surveys between March 18 and March 31, 2026, with an estimated error margin of ± 2-3 percent at the 95% confidence level.

The survey results indicate that wristwatch ownership is relatively uncommon among adult Pakistanis, with a large majority, 72%, not owning one. Among those who do own a wristwatch, analog watches are more prevalent, with 67% of owners preferring them over digital watches, which are owned by 33%.

The findings underscore education as a significant factor in wristwatch ownership, highlighting a notable divide between different educational levels. The survey was released by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
