Islamabad Observes August 5 as ‘Youme-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir’ to Protest Indian Actions

Islamabad: Zamarud Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Sweet Home, announced that August 5 will be commemorated as Youme-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, marking the date of India’s controversial actions in 2019 regarding Jammu and Kashmir. Events will be held in Islamabad and other cities to protest and raise awareness about the issue.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Khan’s announcement came during a meeting with representatives from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter. He criticized the Indian government’s attempts to alter the demographic makeup of the Indian-administered region of Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that these actions were outright rejected by the Kashmiri people. Khan further emphasized the ongoing resistance against Indian policies and assured that the struggle for Kashmiri autonomy would persist until it reaches a conclusive end.

The discussions also touched on plans for the upcoming programs on August 5, organized jointly by Pakistan Sweet Homes and the Hurriyat Conference, aiming to unify support for Kashmir and oppose India’s maneuvers to change the region’s Muslim-majority status.

The meeting featured key Hurriyat figures such as Altaf Ahmad Butt, Mushtaq Butt, and Imtiaz Wani, who condemned the Modi government’s policies as part of a broader Hindutva agenda to shift the demographic balance in Kashmir. They vowed to keep the Kashmir issue alive on international platforms and continue advocating for the rights and recognition of the Kashmiri struggle.
