Srinagar, In a move that has heightened tensions in the region, India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached additional properties in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), citing ongoing investigations. This action is part of what local observers describe as a broader strategy to dispossess Kashmiri residents of their lands and assets.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the properties seized include those owned by Sartaj Ahmed Mantoo, a Kashmiri man arrested on January 31, 2020, who remains in custody. The NIA’s latest action involved attaching seven immovable properties, including land measuring 19 Marlas and 84 square feet located in Kisarigam, Pulwama district, which were officially attached this past Wednesday.
