Srinagar, In a recent operation amid heightened security measures, Indian troops arrested a Kashmiri youth in Kupwara district, a part of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The arrest occurred during a cordon and search operation conducted jointly by the Indian army and police in the Lone Harie area of the district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the detained individual has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Lone. The arrest is part of a broader increase in raids and search operations by Indian forces in the region, purportedly to secure the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 20 in the Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency, which includes Kupwara. Local police have registered a case against Lone, though specific charges have not been disclosed.
