Indian Forces Intensify Raids in Jammu and Kashmir Amid Crackdowns

Srinagar: Indian forces have intensified their operations in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, targeting members of Jamaat-e-Islami and other pro-freedom organizations, according to reports from Kashmir Media Service. These operations aim to instill fear within the Kashmiri population.

Authorities have raided the homes of individuals linked to Jamaat-e-Islami in multiple areas of Sopore in Baramulla district. These actions were conducted under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, as confirmed by an Indian police official. The raids targeted those described as “posing a threat to public order.”

Incriminating materials related to the activities of banned outfits were reportedly seized during the operations, and these materials are being treated as evidence under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Similar operations have been conducted in other districts across the Kashmir valley.

In a separate development, Indian police have enhanced surveillance capabilities by installing wall radar and thermal screening systems at the Nayvug Tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar highway in the Kulgam district. A senior police official stated that this technology will improve their ability to monitor suspicious activities and detect threats in real-time.

The operations and the introduction of advanced surveillance technology mark an escalation in the region’s security measures.
