Indian Forces Constable Fatally Shoots Two Colleagues, Wounds Two Others in Chhattisgarh Incident

Balrampur: In a tragic incident at a security forces camp in Chhattisgarh, an Indian forces constable opened fire on his colleagues, resulting in two fatalities and two injuries. The violence took place at the Chhattisgarh Armed Force’s ‘B’ company camp located in the Bhutahi Mod area of Balrampur district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the shooter, identified as Constable Ajay Sidar, used his Insas rifle to carry out the attack on his fellow personnel. The immediate cause of the shooting has not been disclosed. Constable Rupesh Patel was pronounced dead at the scene, while Constable Sandip Pandey died while being transported to the hospital. The two other injured personnel, Ambuj Shukla and Rahul Baghel, were quickly moved to a local health center in Kusmi for medical treatment, as stated by IGP Ankit Garg.

The incident has raised concerns regarding security and mental health issues within the ranks of the armed forces stationed in conflict zones. Investigations are underway to determine the motives behind Sidar’s actions and to assess the security protocols at the camp.
