Indian Army Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Rajouri VillagePunjab Police Extradite Proclaimed Offender from Saudi Arabia in Continued Crackdown

Rajouri, An Indian army helicopter, on a routine flight, was forced to make an emergency landing in a wheat field in Dewak Hathal village, Rajouri, in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, due to technical difficulties. The unexpected descent of the military aircraft into civilian farmland caused alarm among the local residents.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the helicopter involved in the incident was a Cheetah, piloted by members of the Indian army. It managed to land safely in the wheat fields owned by Balbir Singh, much to the surprise of the village’s inhabitants who witnessed the event.

The emergency landing of the army helicopter in such close proximity to residential areas has sparked discussions on aviation safety and the readiness of military equipment. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or significant damage to the property as a result of the landing.

This incident highlights the challenges and risks associated with military aviation, especially in regions like Jammu and Kashmir, where the terrain and political situation already complicate security operations.

Islamabad, In a notable achievement in their ongoing efforts to apprehend fugitives, Punjab Police have successfully extradited a dangerous proclaimed offender from Saudi Arabia, marking the 15th such arrest from abroad this year. The operation, led under the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, highlights the department’s intensified crackdown against criminals who have fled the country.



According to Punjab Police, the offender, identified only as Shahid, had been wanted by the Sadder Police district Rajanpur since 2022 for involvement in several incidents of robbery and dacoity. After fleeing to Saudi Arabia to evade capture, Shahid was arrested following the issuance of a red notice through Interpol, in a collaborative effort with the Saudi Arabia Police.



IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended the police team’s diligence in apprehending the dangerous criminal from abroad, emphasizing the importance of expediting the legal process to ensure that criminals are brought to justice promptly. Furthermore, Dr. Anwar has instructed the police force to intensify its efforts to arrest the most wanted criminals involved in heinous crimes, underscoring the commitment to improving public safety and upholding the rule of law.



This extradition is part of a broader strategy by Punjab Police to combat crime by targeting proclaimed offenders and fugitives, ensuring they face legal consequences for their actions regardless of their attempts to flee justice. The collaboration with international law enforcement agencies, such as Interpol and the Saudi Arabia Police, demonstrates the global reach of law enforcement efforts to combat crime and protect communities.
