IIOJK authorities further tighten so-called security in view of Amarnath Yatra

Jammu, July 02, 2023 (PPI-OT): The authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have further tightened the so-called security measures in view of the annual Hindu pilgrimage, Amarnath Yatra. The 62-day-long annual pilgrimage started yesterday and will culminate on August 31.

The Indian government has already deployed over 60,000 additional paramilitary personnel across the occupied territory for the yatra. This deployment is in addition to tens of thousands of the troops already deployed across the territory. Apart from that, sniper and sharp shooters will also be deployed at many locations while the yatra convoy will be escorted with Indian forces’ personnel laced with technical gadgets. It is to mention here that while Hindutva Indian government led by Narendra Modi is mobilizing all its resources for the Hindu Amarnath Yatra, it often disallows the Muslims to perform Juma prayers and other religious obligations.
