IGP Islamabad Observes Eid-ul-Adha with Martyrs’ Families, Ensures Citywide Security

Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, celebrated Eid-ul-Adha by engaging with families of police martyrs and overseeing security measures throughout the city. He participated in prayers, visited the Martyrs’ Monument, and dined with police officers, emphasizing the importance of remembering those who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s peace.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, IGP Rizvi initiated the day by attending Eid prayers alongside officers at the Police Lines Headquarters, where prayers were offered for national security and the martyrs’ elevation. He laid flowers at the Martyrs’ Monument and highlighted the importance of honoring the sacrifices of the fallen officers. A meal was hosted for the families of martyrs and officers, reinforcing the community bond within the police force.

IGP Rizvi also visited the homes of martyrs, distributing gifts and promising to address any concerns of the families, affirming his commitment to their welfare. He toured the district, meeting officers on duty, distributing Eid gifts, and expressing gratitude for their service during the festive period.

In line with directives from IGP Rizvi, stringent security measures were implemented citywide. Over 7,000 officers were deployed, with more than 400 managing traffic. Female officers ensured security in public parks, restricted to families only, while Quick Response Teams patrolled the city. The police also clamped down on public disturbances, utilizing Safe City cameras and drones for surveillance.

The Islamabad Police’s strategic planning ensured a peaceful Eid, with no incidents reported across the city.
