Lahore, In a recent crime meeting at the Central Police Office, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar called for intensified efforts to combat drug-related crimes, violence against women and children, and other serious criminal activities in the Faisalabad and Sargodha regions. He emphasized the need for swift and just actions against criminals to provide timely justice to the citizens.
According to Punjab Police, the meeting, conducted via video link, focused on enhancing investigative quality and utilizing advanced forensic and artificial intelligence technologies to solve complex cases, including blind murders. Dr. Anwar directed closer monitoring of severe crimes like robbery, murder, and kidnapping for ransom to ensure that culprits are apprehended swiftly.
Highlighting a zero-tolerance policy for corruption and abuse of authority, Dr. Anwar instructed regional police officers (RPOs) and district police officers (DPOs) to diligently monitor the 1787 Complaint Management System and improve coordination with prosecutors to strengthen case preparations. The senior officers, including Additional IGs and DIGs, were tasked with overseeing these enhancements to crime control and public service delivery in their respective jurisdictions.
