IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Funds Cochlear Implant for Police Constable’s Daughter

Lahore, In a continuation of welfare initiatives for the police force and their families, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has facilitated a life-changing cochlear implant surgery for the daughter of a police constable. Seven-year-old Fatima Zahra, the daughter of Constable Muhammad Gulistan, recently underwent successful surgery, significantly improving her hearing and allowing her to attend school.

According to Punjab Police, Fatima’s ability to hear was restored through a cochlear implant, an advanced medical procedure that has enabled her to begin her education. Her father expressed profound gratitude towards IG Punjab for this critical support. Dr. Usman Anwar visited the school to meet Fatima and other children with similar challenges, underlining his commitment to the welfare of police personnel’s families.

The initiative is part of a broader effort called the “Hamaray Phool” project, which provides a monthly stipend of 15,000 rupees to children suffering from conditions like Thalassemia and cerebral palsy. Dr. Anwar mentioned that 17 children of police employees have benefited from cochlear implants under his tenure, emphasizing the department’s ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare support for their families.
