IG Punjab Awards Ghazi Medals to 12 Officers for Bravery

Lahore, In a solemn ceremony at the Central Police Office, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar awarded Ghazi Medals to twelve police officers and officials who were injured in the line of duty while confronting criminals. The medals were presented as a recognition of their bravery during encounters with robbers, drug dealers, and other miscreants.

According to Punjab Police, the awardees included DSP Bilal Ahmad, ASI Ashiq Ali, and ten other officers who have demonstrated exceptional courage. Dr. Anwar highlighted that these officers fought valiantly without regard for their own safety. Their names will be engraved on the Ghazi Wall at the Central Police Office as a permanent honor.

Dr. Anwar also stated that the recognition of such bravery is crucial for boosting the morale of the force. He emphasized that the officers declared as Ghazi are entitled to the best facilities, and the provision of top medical care for their speedy recovery is a priority. The ceremony, attended by families of the awardees and senior officials such as Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, underscored the ongoing challenges faced by the Punjab Police and the significant sacrifices made by its members.
