LAHORE, Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, convened a meeting with the students of Lahore Garrison University at the Central Police Office. These students, having volunteered with the Punjab Police, have cultivated a deep understanding of police operations and practices.
According to Punjab Police, Dr. Anwar presented certificates to the students, commemorating their completion of the Police Volunteers program. During the interaction, he also discussed the police’s endeavours related to community policing with the students.
Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the vital role of young students, positing that they are the imminent leaders in various professional arenas across Pakistan. To promote educational engagement and research, the Punjab Police is actively fostering collaborations with these students. Opportunities such as internships and initiatives like ‘Friendship in Police’ and ‘Volunteers in Police’ programs have been instituted. These efforts are geared towards educating university students about police functions, crime control measures, and public service provisions. Dr. Anwar envisions these police volunteers as the forthcoming ambassadors of the Punjab Police, bridging trust and fostering mutual respect between the police force and the community. The students shared insights about their training experiences and awareness sessions as volunteers during the ceremony.
