HEC Organises Symposium on Seerat un Nabi (PBUH)

Islamabad, 14 Oct 2023: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan convened a Seeratun Nabi (Peace be Upon Him) Symposium on Friday, aiming to elucidate the life and teachings of the Last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

The symposium, graced by Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed as the chief guest, included distinguished speakers such as Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Nadeem, Chairman of the National Rehmatul-lil-Alamin Authority, and Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, DG of the National Language Promotion Department. It witnessed the participation of Vice Chancellors, faculty, students, and HEC employees.

Addressing the assembly, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed highlighted the all-encompassing guidance provided by the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He pressed upon universities and other academic institutions the need to emphasize the teachings of the Holy Prophet regularly. Dr. Ahmed underscored the profound relevance of Seerah in everyday life, emphasizing the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) on leading a balanced life.

Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Nadeem commended the HEC for the timely organization of the symposium. Focusing his message on the youth, he encouraged them to delve into the Seerah to discern the purpose of their lives. Drawing attention to the broader perspective, he said, “When you begin exploring the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the objective of your life crystallizes, clarifying uncertainties about this existence and the life to come.”

Further enriching the discussion, Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar elaborated on various facets of the Prophet’s life, underlining the importance of understanding the Seerah. He also discussed contributions from eminent Muslim scholars, such as Maulana Rumi and Allama Iqbal, who have made the profound teachings of the Quran and Seerah more accessible.

The event was adorned with recitations of Naats by renowned Naat Khwan Ms. Hina Nasrullah and select HEC personnel.
