ISLAMABAD: The government has announced plans to intensify its awareness campaign for the Simplified Tax Scheme aimed at shopkeepers. This decision was taken during a meeting led by Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani, where it was emphasized that the scheme’s success hinges on effective communication with shopkeepers across the country.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting included discussions on strategies to engage local traders through collaborative visits to markets by representatives from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and traders. The intention is to ensure that information about the Simplified Tax Scheme reaches every shopkeeper, with the help of these trader representatives.

Minister Kayani highlighted the government’s commitment to addressing traders’ demands and stressed the importance of shopkeepers embracing the scheme. The Simplified Tax Scheme is designed to broaden the tax base and provide easier compliance for shopkeepers, aligning with the government’s broader fiscal objectives.
