Islamabad: Pakistan’s government is prioritizing the transformation of its productive sectors into engines of export growth, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal announced during a meeting with a Chinese delegation in the capital.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting included discussions with a delegation led by Sun Dongsheng, Senior Advisor of Economic Affairs Press. Minister Iqbal emphasized the government’s focus on enhancing export capabilities through the modernization of agriculture and industrial sectors as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0 initiative.
The Minister expressed optimism that CPEC 2.0 would facilitate the country in overcoming its export deficit and highlighted the potential for increased business-to-business cooperation. He proposed collaboration with Chinese experts at the National Center of New Manufacturing to benefit from China’s advancements in innovation, automation, and robotics, which are critical for Industrial Revolutions 4.0 and 5.0.
Both parties expressed their commitment to deepening development synergy and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation, with an aim to advance CPEC 2.0 as a significant driver of high-quality development and shared prosperity.
