Karachi, During his visit to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesuri expressed deep concern over the inadequate facilities and staffing issues at the hospital.

According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesuri, in his talk with the media, lamented the state of the hospital, emphasizing the challenges faced by patients due to insufficient resources and staff. He highlighted the request from the Election Commission of Sindh for 700 hospital employees for election duty, which could leave patients in a vulnerable state.

The Governor criticized the lack of basic amenities at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, including the absence of washrooms for patients. He noted that part of the hospital’s construction is being supported by the United Nations Organization (UNO). Tesuri urged the Mayor to address these issues, emphasizing the collective responsibility to provide better healthcare services.

Expressing disappointment over unfulfilled promises by local authorities, Tesuri compared the hospital’s condition unfavorably to that of Aga Khan Hospital. He stressed the urgency of finding a solution, suggesting that the Sindh government could save substantial funds by implementing his plan to improve the hospital within six months, aiming to elevate it to the standards of Khan Hospital.

Governor Tesuri proposed an innovative solution of holding elections every six months to ensure continuous engagement of representatives with the public. He outlined a ten-year plan for the province, which includes making the education system uniform and improving healthcare. He also addressed the political landscape, mentioning Imran Khan’s statements about the army and the need for solidarity and support for national institutions.

The Governor also offered legal support to children wanting to contest election results and announced his intention to write to the Chief Election Commission to address the staffing issue during elections.

Governor Tesuri’s visit and remarks underscore the critical need for immediate improvements in healthcare facilities and the importance of responsive and accountable governance in Sindh.
