Islamabad: Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani has reiterated the government’s focus on establishing a transparent, documented, and inclusive economy. He led a meeting in Islamabad to discuss the progress of the Prime Minister’s Cashless Initiative and to set performance targets for the national cashless dashboard for the current fiscal year.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting aimed to review the progress made in the previous year and to identify key strategies for accelerating the country’s digital financial transformation. The committee emphasized expanding merchant adoption and proposed the creation of a centralized merchant database to improve real-time transaction visibility.
Minister Kayani underscored the importance of the initiative in driving Pakistan’s economic growth and outlined key priorities to ensure the successful implementation of the digital financial systems. The meeting is part of a broader effort by the government to enhance transparency and inclusiveness in the financial sector.
