Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar confirmed that the demands presented by Jamaat-e-Islami, particularly those concerning public welfare, align closely with the government’s own agenda. This statement came following a negotiation session held between the government and Jamaat-e-Islami representatives in Rawalpindi last night.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the discussions, Minister Tarar emphasized the government’s commitment to alleviating public hardships, with a specific focus on reducing electricity prices. He assured continued collaboration and regular committee meetings to address these concerns effectively.
The government’s negotiation team included Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the Prime Minister’s Media Coordinator Badr Shahbaz Waraich, alongside local administrative officials such as the Commissioner and RPO of Rawalpindi, indicating the high priority placed on these talks.
