Global Companies Show Interest in Pakistan’s Energy Sector


ISLAMABAD: Prominent global companies have expressed interest in investing in Pakistan’s energy sector, as disclosed in meetings with Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik. The discussions centered on investment opportunities in energy storage, bonded warehousing, and technology upgrades for refineries.



According to Radio Pakistan, representatives from Vitol Tank Terminal International (VTTI) conveyed their interest in developing energy storage solutions, bonded warehousing, and LPG storage terminals in the country. Meanwhile, U.S.-based Honeywell Universal Oil Products (UOP) indicated plans to expand its investment in Pakistan by offering advanced technology aimed at upgrading refinery operations.



During the meetings, Minister Malik welcomed the potential investments, underscoring the government’s commitment to providing clean and affordable energy. He emphasized the importance of a transparent pricing system and the government’s dedication to enhancing domestic refining capacity and efficiency through technological upgrades.
