Islamabad: In a series of meetings held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani was briefed on the regional security situation, with a particular focus on issues impacting Pakistan’s peace and stability. The discussions took place during a session with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Ubaid Ur Rehman Nizamani.
According to Press Information Department, Mr. Gilani also met with Dr. Muhammad Shahid Amin Khan, World Chairman and Ambassador at Large of the International Human Rights Commission. During this meeting, Dr. Khan presented Mr. Gilani with the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Lifetime Achievement Award.
In another engagement, Malik Naseem Labar, the PPP City President for Multan, discussed political matters related to Multan and South Punjab with Mr. Gilani. Additionally, Ali Syed, Chairman of the National Insurance Company Limited, provided updates on the company’s performance and key initiatives during a courtesy call.
Further, discussions on law and order and party affairs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were held with Farzand Ali Wazir, Chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chapter and a senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
