Gallup & Gilani Survey Reveals PIA as Most Recognized Airline Among Pakistanis

Karachi: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) remains the most recognized airline among adult Pakistanis, with 47% reporting that they have heard of the airline. This finding highlights PIA’s enduring presence in the national consciousness despite the emergence of other airlines.

According to Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, the survey results indicate that while PIA holds the highest recognition rate, Airblue follows with 18%, Fly Jinnah with 13%, AirSial with 8%, and SereneAir with 6%. Notably, 48% of the respondents reported that they have not heard of any of the listed airlines. The survey, conducted among a nationally representative sample of 811 married men and women from both urban and rural areas across Pakistan, underscores PIA’s broad recognition, particularly among older Pakistanis. In contrast, younger respondents demonstrate greater awareness of relatively newer private airlines such as Airblue and Fly Jinnah.

The survey, carried out between March 18 and March 31, 2026, employed telephonic surveys using Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI). The results carry an estimated error margin of ± 2-3 percent at a 95% confidence level. Despite the competitive landscape, the findings reflect PIA’s established reputation, especially among older demographics, while younger Pakistanis exhibit a shift in recognition towards emerging airline brands.
