London: Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, engaged in discussions with the UK’s Minister of State for Trade, Anas Sarwar, at the Department for Business and Trade in London. The meeting, attended by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Tipu Usman, and Advisor to the Finance Minister, Khurram Schehzad, focused on strengthening bilateral trade relations and cooperation between the two nations.

According to Press Information Department, both ministers expressed a commitment to achieving substantial results through the Pakistan-UK Trade Dialogue Mechanism, set to begin in December. The discussions centered on the current bilateral trade volume, which stands at $2.5 billion annually. Both parties recognized the potential to enhance trade in goods and services.

The ministers agreed to explore opportunities in various sectors such as IT, fintech, manufacturing industries, and production. They underscored the importance of expanding cooperation in these areas to bolster economic and commercial ties.

Senator Aurangzeb conveyed that Pakistan’s economy is on a growth trajectory following macroeconomic reforms implemented by the government. He emphasized the government’s dedication to advancing privatization to boost private-sector involvement and improve service delivery through increased competition.
