Election Commission of Pakistan Launches ‘8300’ SMS Service for Voters

Karachi, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has introduced a new initiative to assist voters in obtaining information about their voting status and polling station locations. The service, accessible via SMS to the number 8300, will be operational starting Monday.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, voters can utilize this service by sending their National Identity Card number to 8300. Upon doing so, they will receive details about their registered vote and the designated polling station. The service is priced at two rupees per SMS.

The ECP’s spokesperson also emphasized the importance of voters using this service to gather information for themselves and their family members well in advance of polling day. This proactive approach is aimed at ensuring a smooth and efficient voting experience, minimizing potential confusion or delays at polling stations.

This development is part of the ECP’s broader efforts to streamline electoral processes and enhance voter accessibility in Pakistan, reflecting the commission’s commitment to facilitating an informed and participatory electoral environment.
