Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai Advocates for Rigorous Kashmir Research at UAJK Faculty Meet-Up


Muzaffarabad, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Secretary-General of the World Kashmir Awareness Forum, emphasized the need for quality research on the Kashmir conflict during a Faculty Meet-Up at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK). The event, aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of the Kashmir dispute, brought together senior faculty, department heads, and respected scholars.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the meet-up, held at UAJK’s City Campus, featured discussions led by Dr. Fai, who called for the creation of comprehensive scholarly literature to accurately represent the realities faced by the people of Kashmir. He underscored the critical role of academia in influencing global perceptions and informing international dialogue about the dispute.



Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi, Vice-Chancellor of UAJK, responded to Dr. Fai’s call to action by announcing plans to establish a dedicated Kashmir Center and launch a Journal on Kashmir Studies at the university. This initiative aims to enhance the institution’s focus on Kashmir-related research and provide a platform for publishing scholarly work on the subject. Dr. Waleed Rasool also participated in the discussions, highlighting the importance of such academic engagements in understanding and potentially resolving one of the longest-standing conflicts in the world.
