Lahore, July 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): On the instructions of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, CTD released this year’s performance report. According to the details, CTD has conducted 901 intelligence-based operations in various districts including Lahore this year, as a result of which 177 suspects involved in terrorism, anti-national and anti-social activities have been arrested and 142 FIRs have been registered. The arrested accused also include 03 most wanted terrorists of banned organizations included in the Red Book.

Through timely operations, CTD eliminated 114 networks involved in terrorist operations, planning and support while a large number of suicide jackets, rockets, hand grenades, detonators, IEDs, explosives were recovered from the possession of terrorists. Similarly, pistols, ball bearing boxes, bullets, safety fuses, prima cards, laptops, mobiles, and other controversial materials including banned books, magazines, pamphlets were also recovered. CTD teams foiled 13 planned terrorist attacks and arrested the accused. CTD teams also arrested 07 most wanted proclaimed offenders and 02 court absconders. Cyber-tracing of 1030 accounts on social media was done, 4078 sites and pages involved in promoting hateful and objectionable content were blocked and CTD issued 241 special information reports for awareness and prevention of terrorist threats and other criminal activities.

While congratulating the CTD for the excellent performance, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed Additional IG CTD to speed up intelligence-based operations. He said that for the complete elimination of terrorism from the province, all criminals including terrorists, facilitators, financiers should be brought under the grip of the law and punished by effective information sharing.
