ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad, Ali Waseem, has mandated a stronger crackdown on criminal gangs following his visit to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Headquarters and the Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA). During his visit, he emphasized the need for an effective strategy to combat criminal activity and improve institutional performance.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, DIG Waseem received briefings on the current operations and performance of the CTD and CIA. At the CTD Headquarters, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) CTD Saud Khan provided an overview of the department’s operations and initiatives. The DIG urged CTD officers to enhance their strategies and fulfill their professional duties with greater efficiency.

During his inspection at the CIA, DIG Waseem reviewed various sections, including the record room and lock-up facilities. He held a meeting with CIA In-charge DSP Sulaiman Shah and other officers to evaluate the agency’s performance in tackling criminal activities.

The DIG directed law enforcement officers to intensify efforts against gangs involved in car and motorcycle theft and robbery. He instructed the compilation of lists of proclaimed offenders to ensure their arrest and emphasized taking action against those involved in the illegal trade of stolen vehicles and parts.

Furthermore, DIG Waseem stressed the importance of dedication and integrity among officers and warned that both departmental and legal actions would be taken against any found negligent or corrupt.
