Dera Ghazi Khan, In a significant law enforcement operation, Dera Ghazi Khan Police apprehended an alleged dacoit following a shooting encounter in the Shah Sadr Deen area on Tuesday. The suspect was injured during the incident and was subsequently taken into custody.
According to Punjab Police, a police team encountered three individuals riding a motorcycle in a suspicious manner at Mauza Bhanjar Jalal. Upon pursuit, the suspects reportedly opened fire at the officers, leading to a retaliatory response from the police in self-defense. Following the exchange of gunfire, one of the accused was found injured, while his accomplices managed to flee the scene.
The police spokesperson stated that the injured suspect, identified as Taimoor son of Abdul Rasheed, was wounded by the firing of his own accomplices during the encounter. He was promptly shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. Taimoor is allegedly involved in an attack on two police constables, Khadim Baig and Nasir, in addition to being implicated in several dacoities.
