Dera Bugti: A significant partnership has been forged between the Health Department of Balochistan and the Indus Hospital and Health Network to launch a universal health coverage initiative in Dera Bugti district, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration introduces the Chief Minister’s Initiative of Health on Wheels, aimed at extending health services to the remote areas of the province.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the MoU was signed by Secretary Health Balochistan, Saleh Muhammad Baloch, and the Executive Director of the Indus Hospital Health Network, Dr. Mah Talat, in the presence of several key figures. These included Director General Health Balochistan, Dr. Amin Khan Mandukhel, Additional Secretary Health Arif Achakzai, Additional Secretary Health Tawfiqa Daniyal, and Provincial Manager of Indus Hospital, Dr. Jahandad Kasi.

Secretary Health Balochistan, Saleh Muhammad Baloch, highlighted during the event that the government’s decision to roll out the Health on Wheels initiative is crucial for providing necessary health facilities to the impoverished sectors of the population living in remote areas. This move is anticipated to provide substantial financial support for medical treatments to every disadvantaged individual in Dera Bugti, ensuring that the benefits of improved healthcare are felt directly by the community.

The initiative is part of a broader mission by the Balochistan Health Department to enhance primary care across the province through an effective primary health care system. This strategy aims to ensure that health issues are identified and addressed early on, which will help in reducing the risk of severe future complications and contribute to the overall improvement of the health sector.
