New York: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has embarked on a visit to New York to partake in the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, where he is expected to engage in a diverse array of meetings and discussions.

According to Radio Pakistan, during the High-Level week, Dar will participate in the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir, advocating for Pakistan’s steadfast support for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. He is also set to attend several OIC ministerial meetings on the sidelines of the UNGA, including the OIC Foreign Ministers’ Annual Coordination Meeting and other OIC Contact Group sessions.

Highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to the Palestinian cause, Dar will join high-level discussions concerning Palestine, including meetings with the Group of Eight Arab Islamic countries and the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution. Furthermore, he will deliver a statement at the UN Security Council briefing on Artificial Intelligence and participate in a High-Level Meeting on pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response.

Dar is scheduled to chair the meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization Council of Ministers. Additionally, he will engage in bilateral discussions with counterparts from various nations and accompany the Prime Minister in high-level bilateral meetings and engagements. Throughout his engagements, Dar aims to underscore Pakistan’s efforts for regional and international peace and stability, while exchanging views on significant regional and global challenges.
