HANGU: Security forces have successfully neutralized eight members of the Indian-sponsored militant group Fitna al-Khwarij during a recent engagement in Hangu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Radio Pakistan, the intense exchange of fire resulted in the deaths of two officers, Captain Abuzar Farooq and Lieutenant Sheraz Babar, who were leading the operation. Both officers, along with four other soldiers, lost their lives while combating the militants. The operation is part of a broader counter-terrorism initiative known as “Azm-e-Istehkam,” aimed at eradicating foreign-sponsored terrorism from the region.
In the aftermath of the clash, security personnel have initiated a sanitization operation to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining militants in the area. The incident underscores the ongoing commitment of the country’s security forces to maintain national security and combat external threats.
