Deputy PM Dar Calls for Enhanced Diplomatic Efforts to Protect National Interests

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized the pivotal role of Pakistan’s diplomats in safeguarding and promoting national interests amid changing global dynamics. Speaking at the Graduation Ceremony of the 43rd Specialized Diplomatic Course in Islamabad, Dar highlighted the critical need for diplomats to adapt and actively engage in shaping foreign policy to align with emerging strategic, political, and economic trends.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dar appealed to both current and former diplomats to contribute their insights towards refining Pakistan’s foreign policy framework. This call for input aims to ensure that the nation’s diplomatic strategies are responsive to the evolving international landscape, particularly in realms such as international law, politics, foreign trade, economics, and public diplomacy.

Dar pointed out the ongoing transformations in modern diplomacy, noting that international and domestic political issues are increasingly intersecting with diplomatic concerns. He underscored the importance of integrating contemporary disciplines into the training programs for new foreign service entrants, preparing them to meet the multifaceted challenges faced in diplomatic arenas.
