CTO Islamabad Orders Increased Traffic Policing to Enhance Road Safety


ISLAMABAD: Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan has directed the Islamabad Traffic Police to intensify field policing efforts to ensure smoother traffic flow and safer roads. In a meeting held at the Traffic Police Headquarters in Faizabad, attended by SP Traffic and zonal DSPs, strategies for improving traffic management were discussed.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting addressed various issues including current traffic conditions on major roads, challenges faced by citizens, and ongoing enforcement actions against violations. Officers provided updates on traffic flow and field operations in their zones.



CTO Khan emphasized the importance of maintaining traffic flow while facilitating the public, particularly during peak hours. A strict crackdown against illegal parking in commercial areas and weekly markets was ordered to alleviate congestion problems.



Additionally, Khan highlighted the need for intensified efforts to protect citizens from road accidents, enforce traffic discipline, and ensure compliance with traffic laws. Priority actions include tackling serious violations such as illegal parking, overspeeding, and encroachments.



The Islamabad Traffic Police’s primary goal remains to provide improved travel facilities and ensure road safety for all citizens.
