COVID-19 claims six more patients, infects 196 others

Karachi, November 24, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as six more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,619 and 196 new cases emerged when 12,607 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Wednesday. He added that six more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,619 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.

Mr. Shah said that 12,607 samples were tested which detected 196 cases that constituted 1.6 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 6,680,427 tests have been conducted against which 473,707 cases were diagnosed, of them 97.1 percent or 460,120 patients have recovered, including 158 overnight. The CM said that currently 5,968 patients were under treatment, of them 5,775 were in home isolation, 12 at isolation centres and 181 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 179 patients was stated to be critical, including 16 shifted to ventilators.

According to the statement, out of 196 new cases, 75 have been detected from Karachi, including 40 from South, 23 East, six West, four Central and Malir two. Hyderabad 14, Tharparkar 13, Sujawal 12, Tando Allahyar 11, Sanghar and Shaheed Benazirabad ten each, Naushero Feroze nine, Dadu and Larkana eight each, Mirpurkhas seven, Badin, Matiari and Umerkot five each and Tando Muhammad Khana four.

Vaccination: Sharing vaccination data the CM said that 23,626,991 vaccinations have been administered upto November 23th, and added during the last 24 hours 73,639 vaccines were inoculated – in total 23,700,630 vaccines have administered which constituted 44.11 percent of the vaccine eligible population. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
