Congress questions Modi’s ‘shocking silence’ over Manipur woman being paraded naked, gang raped

New Delhi, July 20, 2023 (PPI-OT): Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan denounced, what she said, shocking silence of the Modi government over the horrific happening to two Christian women who were paraded naked and at least one of them gang raped on camera by a Hindu mob in Manipur state of India. Ranjeet Ranjan gave suspension of Business Notice under rule 267 in Rajya Sabha to discuss the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘shocking silence on’ the incident.

The Congress MP, meanwhile, in a video message said that she was even ashamed at herself over gang-rape and naked parading of the women in Manipur. She said her body is shivering over what is happening in India. Asking the Modi government to stop the naked parading like incidents, Ranjeet Ranjan said all such things are happening at the behest of the government.

She asked how Prime Minister Modi can boast “All is well” in India and “India shines” during his foreign trips while the fact is there are taking such incidents in the country. She asked whether Modi would get resign from his Manipur chief minister.
