Srinagar, July 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Complete shutdown will be observed in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday to mark the 7th martyrdom anniversary of popular youth leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani. Call for the shutdown has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) to pay glowing tributes to Burhan Wani and other martyrs of Kashmir freedom movement and supported by all pro-freedom leaders and organizations.
Burhan Wani was martyred along with his two associates by Indian troops in a fake encounter in Kokernag area of Islamabad on July 08 in 2016. The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar appealed to the people of the occupied territory to observe a complete strike on Saturday to convey a message to the world particularly the United Nations that the Kashmiris are offering unparalleled sacrifices for their right to self-determination acknowledged by the UN through its several resolutions. He said that the 8th July would be observed as Youm-e-Tajdeed-e-Ahad to reiterate the Kashmiris’ resolve to accomplish the mission of their martyrs at all costs.
The APHC spokesman said that the shutdown is also aimed at letting India know that the people of Kashmir reject its illegal occupation over their homeland and that they demand a permanent settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with their aspirations. Meanwhile, more posters displayed by APHC, Nawjawanan-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Political Resistance Movement, Jammu and Kashmir Justice League Forum, Jammu and Kashmir Sada-i-Mazloom, Wareseen-e-Shuhada, Democratic Youth Forum, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Movement, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Resistance Party, Kashmir Resistance Movement, Kashmir Hurriyat Forum, Youth Democratic Political Movement, Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Azadi, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Alliance, Jammu and Kashmir Students Youth Forum, and several other pro-freedom organizations in different areas of the Kashmir valley urged the people to observe complete strike on Burhan Wani’s martyrdom anniversary on Saturday. They also asked the people to conduct a march towards Tral town, the native area of Burhan Wani, on the day to express solidarity with the martyrs’ families.
The posters said, Burhan Wani and other martyrs have sacrificed their lives for a sacred cause and it is the responsibility of the Kashmiri people to take their mission to its logical conclusion. They said, the mission of these martyrs to free their homeland from Indian clutches would be accomplished at all costs. The posters also circulated on the social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp read that the unresolved Kashmir dispute was the biggest hurdle to peace and stability in the region so the UN must take solid steps for its peaceful resolution.
