Lahore: In a move to enhance healthcare services in the Punjab region, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the launch of MRI services in district hospitals through a public-private partnership model.
According to Chief Minister of Punjab, this initiative aims to improve service delivery by outsourcing MRI scanning services, starting with the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in Sheikhupura and Bahawalnagar.
The implementation of these MRI services will involve a financial commitment of Rs. 39 crore 92 lac for the installation and operation of the necessary equipment in the District Headquarters Hospitals of Sheikhupura and Bahawalnagar. The installation in Sheikhupura has been completed, and the facility in Bahawalnagar is set to follow suit. The initiative is projected to significantly enhance early diagnosis capabilities for complex diseases in these regions.
Chief Minister Sharif emphasized that the outsourcing model is part of a broader strategy to provide quality MRI facilities in selected districts throughout Punjab. The project represents a focused effort to address healthcare needs and improve medical infrastructure in the province.
