Lahore, Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif convened with a delegation from the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, led by British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, to enhance cooperation across several critical sectors including health, education, and environmental management.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, during the meeting, CM Sharif detailed the ongoing and upcoming initiatives aimed at improving public services and infrastructure across Punjab. She outlined significant developments such as the launch of a free ambulance service, the provision of state-of-the-art health facilities, and extensive educational reforms.
Additionally, Sharif discussed the implementation of environmental strategies to address pollution and waste management challenges. The meeting also reviewed a roadmap for resolving issues in these sectors, with a commitment to maintain transparency and effectiveness through third-party monitoring.
High Commissioner Marriott praised the comprehensive strategies and vision of CM Sharif, especially in fostering sustainable development and ensuring public welfare in Punjab. The session also highlighted the Punjab government’s efforts in revenue mobilization and local government enhancement, with senior government officials and assembly members in attendance to support the collaborative initiatives.
