Chaman, The Basic Health Unit (BHU) in Habizan Sheilabagh, closed since the 1990s due to tribal and political conflicts, has been reactivated as part of a broader initiative by the provincial government and health department to enhance public health services across the region.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, DC Chaman Raja Athar Abbas and DSM Zia from PPHI led the efforts to reopen the facility, which had been deprived of public use for over three decades. The reactivation of the BHU is part of a significant push to activate and fully equip health units throughout the division.
The reopening ceremony included speeches from local administration and health department officials who committed to overcoming challenges to provide essential health services to the community. DC Abbas acknowledged the contribution of political and tribal leaders in facilitating the reopening, emphasizing the importance of collaborative development for the region’s prosperity and peace. The event was attended by health officials, local administration, and community leaders, all of whom were commended for their roles in this pivotal achievement.
