Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar Advocates for Energy Policies to Boost Pakistan as Regional Manufacturing Hub

Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has emphasized the need for implementing strategic energy policies to establish Pakistan as a key manufacturing hub in the region. In an interview with China Global Television Network, Kakar highlighted the importance of economic revival and technology transfer in enhancing Pakistan’s manufacturing capabilities.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Kakar stressed the critical role of economic factors such as efficient energy use and technological advancements in global economic activities. He underscored the importance of adopting a frugal approach to spending and maximizing earnings for economic growth.

Kakar also pointed out the necessity of a robust taxation system and structural reforms in Pakistan’s domestic economic agenda. These measures are seen as vital to the country’s economic revival and sustainability.

Discussing China’s Belt and Road Initiative, Kakar noted that it presents significant industrial opportunities for regional countries, including Pakistan. He believes that the initiative will facilitate industrialization in Pakistan, particularly through the relocation of industries.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s focus on Special Economic Zones (SEZs) as a strategy to attract Foreign Direct Investment. He mentioned that progressive taxation policies are being developed to make these zones more appealing to international investors.

Kakar’s vision for Pakistan’s economic development is rooted in leveraging strategic energy policies and international initiatives like the Belt and Road to transform the country into a significant manufacturing and industrial player in the region.
