Rawalpindi, In a display of military discipline and prowess, cadets from the 148th PMA Long Course, 67th Integrated Course, 35th Technical Graduate Course, and the 22nd Lady Cadet Course participated in a passing out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul. Notably, the graduating class also included cadets from several international backgrounds, representing Iraq, Maldives, Nepal, Palestine, Qatar, Sri Lanka, and Yemen. Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, was in attendance as the chief guest, bestowing awards upon distinguished cadets for their outstanding achievements.
According to a news release by Inter Services Public Relations, the chief guest reviewed the parade and presented awards to the cadets who demonstrated exemplary performance throughout their training. Academy Senior Under Officer Muhammad Abdur Rehman Awan from the 148th PMA Long Course was the recipient of the coveted Sword of Honour. The President’s Gold Medal was awarded to Battalion Senior Under Officer Muhammad Hamza Khalid, also from the 148th PMA Long Course. Reflecting the international character of the academy, Battalion Senior Under Officer Shreejan Baniya from Nepal, part of the 148th PMA Long Course, was honoured with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Overseas Gold Medal. Commandant’s Canes were presented to Course Under Officer Muhammad Najam Azam of the 67th Integrated Course and Course Under Officer Fareeha Kainaat Arif from the 22nd Lady Cadet Course. Lastly, the Chief of Army Staff Cane was awarded to Company Quarter Master Sergeant Frasat Toufique from the 35th Technical Graduate Course.
In addition to Admiral Ashraf, the event was also graced by the Commander of the Sri Lankan Army, Lieutenant General HLVM Liyanage, who attended as a Guest of Honour, further emphasizing the ties and mutual respect between the military institutions of the two countries.
