Bani Gala Police Arrest Suspect, Seize Weapons in Ongoing Campaign


Islamabad: Bani Gala police have arrested a suspect and seized multiple firearms as part of an intensified operation against illegal weapons in the city. This effort is part of the broader Weapon-Free Islamabad campaign initiated by local authorities.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation was conducted under the directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. Officers arrested Muhammad Tariq for alleged illegal possession of weapons. The police recovered six Kalashnikov-style automatic guns, one 9mm pistol, and a significant amount of ammunition during the operation. A case has been filed against Tariq, and an investigation is currently in progress.



SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, emphasized the department’s zero-tolerance approach toward illegal weapons and aerial firing. He mentioned that specialized police teams are actively targeting individuals involved in such activities and assured that actions against these elements will continue without discrimination. Raza also noted the commitment to utilizing all available resources to safeguard citizens and aim for a weapon-free capital.
