Quetta: A significant meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Quetta on Wednesday, chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, focusing on the establishment of a private special economic zone in the province. Key provincial officials and industry leaders attended the meeting to deliberate on the proposed project in Turbat, aiming to foster investment and stimulate economic activities in Balochistan.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting was attended by prominent figures including Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Mir Zahoor Ahmad Baladi, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, and several other high-ranking officials. A detailed briefing was provided on the prospects of the private economic zone, highlighting the region’s potential for investment.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized the significance of fostering private economic zones alongside government-supported special economic zones to accelerate economic growth and job creation in the private sector. He assured that the provincial government would facilitate the private sector with a one-window operation for all necessary support and cooperation in implementing viable projects for the economic zone.
Furthermore, directives were issued to the officials of the Industries Department to expedite the issuance of provincial level NOCs across various sectors, enabling the private sector to commence project implementation promptly.
