New Delhi: Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of undermining democracy in India. During a speech at the Samajwadi Party headquarters in New Delhi, Yadav criticized the ruling party’s actions and intentions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Yadav charged the BJP with viewing the dismantling of democratic systems as its prerogative. He highlighted the need for vigilance and caution against what he termed the BJP’s schemes to weaken democracy. Furthermore, Yadav claimed that his party, the Samajwadi Party, had defeated the BJP in recent Lok Sabha elections and expressed confidence in defeating them in the upcoming by-elections and the 2027 assembly elections.
