Acting Pakistani President Mourns Loss of Iranian Leaders


Islamabad, Acting President of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, has publicly mourned the deaths of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, and the Governor of Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, Malek Rahmati, following a helicopter accident.



According to Senate of Pakistan, Gilani expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy, recognizing President Raisi’s significant contributions to his country and the region. He highlighted the strong bonds between Pakistan and Iran, emphasizing the shared grief of the Pakistani parliament and people with the bereaved families.



In his statement, Gilani called for divine blessings for the deceased and fortitude for their families, reflecting the deep connections and mutual respect between the two nations. The sentiments were echoed by the Acting Chairman Senate, Syedaal Khan, who also extended heartfelt condolences to Iran, underlining the loss as not just Iran’s but also a poignant moment for regional allies like Pakistan.
