24 Million Citizens Benefit from Fuel Relief Scheme, Minister Announces

Islamabad: Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary announced that 24 million citizens are benefiting from the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme, which offers a significant discount on petrol. In a news conference, the minister detailed that the program provides a subsidy of one hundred rupees per liter for owners of motorcycles, rickshaws, Qingqis, and small cars with engines up to 800cc.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chaudhary emphasized that the initiative is a targeted subsidy, implemented nationwide, with a straightforward and transparent registration process. He also highlighted the government’s concurrent austerity measures, including a fifty percent reduction in the fuel allocation for official vehicles, as part of efforts to address current economic challenges.

When questioned about potential protests by opposition parties, Chaudhary assured that the government is committed to its duty of maintaining law and order within the federal capital territory.
